File extension bbl information

This file extension is used to identify the TeX/BibTeX Bibliographic Reference Files. This file is actually an add-on that is used by the TeX technical, a writing typesetting application that specifically allows users to do typesetting work. This typesetting is usually done on bibliographies of reports and technical documents that are associated with this application. Without the installation of this add-on, the application would fail to recognize these files and will therefore not provide a default application. This means that the BBL file extensions will not be recognized by the operating system as valid files.
The BBL file extension is also used by in Microsoft Access as a file format as part of the MS Access database. The BBL has 2 files, one is called “details” and the other is called “bible”. A BBL file can be password protected in MS Access. However, these protection methods are easily broken using a simple password cracker application or software code. A Microsoft Jet DataBase of mdb can be seen on a bbl by changing the extension to bbl. After that one can work on it like a database file.
